About
Satpreet Singh is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Kanaka Rajan‘s group. Singh is currently working on artificial neural network agents for neuroscience. He has previously held roles as a postdoc at the Baylor College of Medicine & Rice University, a Research Scientist at Meta, and a Data Scientist at LinkedIn. Singh earned his PhD from the University of Washington (Seattle) applying machine learning to neuroscience and neuroengineering.
Research Focus
Singh is currently working on developing simulators and training recurrent neural networks (RNNs) using deep reinforcement learning to build artificial agents that show emergent complex behaviors resembling model organisms in neuroscience. He is reverse engineering aforementioned RNN-Agents to develop a mechanistic understanding of training dynamics and resulting emergent behaviors, neural dynamics and neural connectivity. Singh is also broadly interested in applying machine learning and AI to neuroscience, biology and medicine.
