About

Yonatan Belinkov is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Kempner Institute. He is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Prior to that, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard SEAS and a postdoctoral associate at MIT CSAIL. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2018. He holds BSc and MA degrees in Mathematics and Arabic and Islamic Studies from Tel Aviv University.

Research Focus

Dr. Belinkov’s current research focuses on interpreting and controlling large language models and other AI models, to make them more robust, trustworthy, and safe. His also investigates how language emerges when AI agents learn to communicate to achieve shared goals. Recently, his lab has developed new models for classical bioinformatics tasks as well as models that process and generate both text and biological data such as protein and DNA sequences.
