About
Born and raised in Chicago, David completed his undergraduate studies in psychology and mathematics at University of Illinois at Chicago. During his time there, he was part of the Keinath Lab, where he researched spatial memory and navigation in humans using virtual reality. David is passionate about uncovering models of cognition and hopes to use computational modeling and experimentation to understand what makes us human.
Research Focus
David investigates the computational mechanisms underlying cognition, particularly how intelligent systems use intuition to interpret their surroundings and solve problems. Currently working within the CCNLab at Harvard, his focus is on intuitive physics. His research combines modeling, neural recording techniques, and deep learning to test theories of human cognition. He’s driven by a fascination with all forms of intelligence and a desire to understand where human cognition excels and where it falls short.
