About

Catherine Yeh is a computer science Ph.D. candidate advised by Martin Wattenberg and Fernanda Viégas in the Insight + Interaction Lab. Her main research interests lie at the intersection of visualization, interpretability, and human-AI interaction. Previously, Yeh received her B.A. in computer science and cognitive science from Williams College. She has also interned at Apple Research, Microsoft Research, and Adobe Research. In her free time, Yeh enjoys painting, exploring new restaurants, and playing the piano.

Research Focus

Yeh’s research focuses on novel intersections of artificial intelligence and visualization and how each field can augment the other. She is excited about designing visualization-based interpretability techniques and tools to recover phenomena inspired by natural intelligence in artificial networks. Guided by these explorations, Yeh hopes to craft more productive, safe, and creative human-AI interactions.
