About
Anne Wu completed a PhD in Computer Science at Cornell University, advised by Yoav Artzi. She develops machine learning methods for situated, natural multimodal interaction, spanning language, speech, vision, and reinforcement learning. She was a visiting student at Kyutai. Before Cornell, she worked at FAIR (Meta) and in the finance industry.
Research Focus
Anne’s research focuses on developing models that learn from natural signals in complex interactive environments. Her work centers on achieving robust, grounded understanding and communication in interactive settings, particularly within multimodal conversational models. She is also broadly interested in alignment and safety. Her long-term goal is to build AI models that are natively interactive, capable of perceiving, reasoning, and collaborating with humans across modalities (e.g., text, audio, vision) in real time.
