About
Elise Porter joined the Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Harvard University as its inaugural executive director in August 2022. Prior to her role at the Kempner, Elise served in leadership positions within Harvard University’s affiliated hospitals. Throughout her career, Elise has worked with a diverse group of clinical and research faculty, translating ideas into goals and objectives, and establishing processes and services that have optimized business activities across multiple sites. Elise has many years of experience managing eight-figure annual operating budgets and seven-figure basic and clinical research budgets, as well as designing and building collaborative teams to advance research, academic, and clinical missions in a variety of settings. Elise earned her MBA from Simmons College and her MA from Boston College.
