Can Insights from Human Learning Drive Advances in AI Technology?
Daphna Weinshall

Join us for a talk by Daphna Weinshall, Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Weinshall’s research focuses on learning paradigms inspired by human cognition. Active learning allows models to focus on the most informative data, reducing the need for large labeled datasets while saving time and resources. Curriculum learning involves structuring learning tasks in a progressive manner, which can enhance the model’s ability to learn complex patterns. While these approaches are fundamental to human learning, their relevance in the current AI landscape – dominated by vast amounts of data and incredible computational power – remains an open question.
