The Kempner Institute seeks to build a community of scholars working across fields to solve some of the most compelling mysteries of our time by fundamentally and radically advancing our understanding of natural and artificial intelligence.
Mission
We aim to understand the basis of intelligence in natural and artificial systems. Through our research, we strive to reveal the fundamental mechanisms of intelligence, advance AI technologies, and apply these new technologies for the benefit of humanity.
Vision
The Institute recruits and trains future generations of researchers to study intelligence from biological, cognitive, engineering, and computational perspectives, thereby advancing a fundamental and unified understanding of the nature of intelligence.
